Hey everyone VU is now just over one year old and now that we have learned to crawl and walk its time to run with this shit! Now that were nicely rested from all our jet laggin its time to take this to the next level that you deserve. "City Of Evil" one of the greatest albums of the 21st century

Avenged Sevenfold's album "City Of Evil" was voted one of the greatest albums of the 21st century by Kerrang! readers. The magazine let it's readers vote for the 50 greatest albums of the 21st century. "City Of Evil" ended up at #27.

A few days ago, I received an e-mail from Jeff. He told me about Pepsi and Rockband teaming up for a video contest, where you create a video of your favorite band, incorporating the Rockband instruments. The winner of the contest will be presented with an original MTV Award.
Please check out this awesome video they made to represent Avenged Sevenfold and 'Critical Acclaim'. Props to the guys, they did a fabulous job and paid attention to even the smallest details to make it Sevenfold-ish.

UK's Channel for to air Sonisphere coverage

For those of you who missed it or want to relive it again, you can. UK's Channel 4 will be airing some Sonisphere coverage soon!
Team Sonisphere have teamed up with Blink TV to serve up the most rocking televised event this side of Hades.
Highlights from the two-day rockstravaganza at Knebworth House will blast out on Channel 4 at five past midnight on Thursday 14th August 2009.
Packed with raw backstage footage, exclusive interviews and full-on, high-def, multi-camera live performances from some of the biggest names in rock including Metallica, Limp Bizkit, Feeder, Anthrax, Taking Back Sunday, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet for my Valentine and Alice in Chains, this will be the most revealing and most rocking festival footage to hit TV screens this year.

First of all, sorry for the downtime earlier. Our servers got shut down due to someone climbing up a powerpole and getting shocked. Anyways, we're back. Here's the review by Mirror.co.uk
As we walk past two lads naked save for ladies' thongs scarcely concealing their Meat & Two Veg, we loudly proclaim that we need an antidote to the pretentious dirge we just suffered. It comes in the form of five men in mirrored sunglasses from Orange County.
Avenged Sevenfold are Guns n Roses gone speed metal. Ridiculously brilliant guitar solos, extraordinary double bass pedal drumming and songs lasting for ten minutes that have about four different choruses each. It is over the top, it is absurd, it is amazing. The band includes the wonderfully named Synyster Gates, Johnny Christ and The Rev on drums. The Rev manages to break one of his drum pedals such is his furiously rubbery thumping on them. Sorry, Fred. A7X have just pinched Performance of the Day off you.

Following the sadness of NIN’s last ever UK show isn’t the most enviable of tasks but thankfully, it’s one that Avenged Sevenfold are more than capable of. Hitting the stage with all of the gusto of a band in their pomp, A7X surge into the hard-and-heavy ‘Critical Acclaim’. What impresses more about A7X than someone such as BFMV, Trivium or any of the other bigger new wave bands is pure showmanship and star quality. This band were born to command stages and occasions such as this and by god, that’s exactly what they do.
Avenged continue to defy critics with performances such as today’s.
